Rural Young Woman

The Temora Rural Young Woman Competition is a prestigious event that celebrates the passion, dedication and leadership of young women in rural and regional NSW.

Originally known as the Miss Showgirl Competition, today the competition continues to play a significant role in the development of rural women in our community.

Registration for Rural Young Woman

Registration for Rural Young Woman begins on 15 May 2025 at the Temora Ex-Services Club at 7pm. If unavailable please contact Karen directly.

Registration for Junior Showgirl & Junior Boy

Registration begins at 12 noon for juniors.

You will be asked to sign a waiver form when placing your child’s name on the entries list. Each entrant will receive a ribbon which is to be pinned on for the competition. Judging of the Junior Belle & Beau will take place at 2 p.m.

Information

The Temora Rural Young Woman is committed to bringing back the importance and of the Temora Young Woman Competition within our community. 

It aims to find a young female ambassador for the Temora Shire. The winning Young woman is selected by a panel of three judges' and remains the Young woman until the following years' show. 

Duties involve being a representative for the Temora Community with the opportunity to participate in local events. 

Entrants must have a genuine interest in and knowledge of the Temora area and rural NSW including issues faced by women in rural New South Wales. Entrants must be between 18 to 26 years old as of the 1st of May 2025. Entrants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general & rural knowledge, presentation and speech. 

Judging will take place prior to the show, with the winner announced at the opening of the Temora Show 2025.

Dinner dance

The Temora Rural Young Woman Competition will have a formal dinner dance on the 20th September 2025 at the Temora Ex-Services Club at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets can be purchased at the Ex-Services Club.

Tickets for the Rural Young Woman Luncheon are available at Rick Firman's Menswear as of 1st September.
